Congratulations on your engagement! It’s an exciting time for the two of you, and you just can’t wait to celebrate with a stunning engagement photo session! You’re starting to scope out locations, photographers, and dreaming of the perfect wedding day.

If you’re still searching for a location for your Engagement Session, you’re in the right place! My couples often ask for help in choosing a location for their session, so I’ve listed out my top 7 locations below with examples from past sessions!

White Rock Lake Park is a gorgeous natural spot for Engagement Sessions! With the trees, bridge, lake, and docks, there’s plenty of options for a variety of natural looks here in this park. Plus – catching a sunset here looks STUNNING off the water!

This Croatian-inspired village is one of the best hidden gems around DFW! This area consists of some shopping, residential, and commercial spaces. But the architecture is just amazing – and if you love that old world feel, then this just might be for you.

If you’re a big city girl and just love the urban setting, there’s no better place than the Dallas Arts District. Literally everywhere you go around this part of town is clean, pretty, and makes you go “wow!” And with all the reflections and lines around the Winspear Opera House, this area has many great compositional elements for photographs.

Do you like water? How about a lighthouse? The Harbor Rockwall is a great spot for golden hour, and has a lot of shopping, dining, and entertainment nearby!

One of my recent favorites is actually out in Fort Worth! The Fort Worth Water Gardens has several spots with different fountains, pools, and is overall just a really cool place to hang out.

Similar to White Rock Lake Park, Lakeside Park is a great option for a natural setting! Plus the neighborhood is just so beautiful. If you like the idea of an outdoor engagement session location that’s clean and well-manicured, you may like this spot over White Rock Lake Park.

Looking for something a little different? To no surprise, Deep Ellum is a fantastic area to capture your engagement session if you’re looking for a place that has more personality, grit, and color. Between the murals, brick, and signs, there’s plenty of variety for your engagement session!

If you’re already shooting around another location in the city, Trinity Overlook Park can be another great spot to stop by during your session! If you love the city skyline, this is one of those spots that just look so amazing – especially during a sunset!

When I first heard of this place I thought, “A waterfall in DFW?!” But yes, it’s in Richardson, and it’s real. Coming from the Pacific Northwest, I’ve noticed waterfalls usually require a somewhat laborious hike… but this was so easy to get to. If you’re looking for something a little more unique, Prairie Creek Park is a gorgeous spot for an engagement session.

Ok, so this one is technically in Irving, but not really that far out and well worth the cost to get a photography permit ($50). I love the architecture, canal, and greenery at this location! And if you want to ride a gondola, that can result in some pretty cool photos too.
